I have been around JWs on occasion (in their homes) as a home health worker.... and in one small town I worked in in SE Arizona, I worked with a number of JWs at the local hospital. They were wonderful folks. It was a lot different than the experiences with the door knockers in that it wasn't a bit awkward to be with them in that environment.
About the only thing I noticed about them is that they were pretty strict about actually socializing with others outside of their church. If I suggested this they would usually defer unless it was maybe a lunch at work. And even then they would usually say that they wanted to eat at the hospital Cafeteria. Occasionally we would eat at a restaurant as a group for lunch.
