You must have missed reading a few verses, because Jesus certainly DID exhort people to treat others as they would want to be treated.

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets."

"And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise."

How can anyone conform to the Image of Christ and fail to do that?

You can't just substitute whichever pronouns you want and claim that it means the same thing. Pronouns matter!

Christ taught us to treat others the way *WE* would want to be treated; not the way *THEY* want to be treated.

I quoted directly from the King James Version of the Bible.

I have to say that this is the first time in my entire life that I've ever heard somebody try to make an excuse for failing to follow the Golden Rule.
