In God we do not drink what Allah ordered us not to drink
O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks),
and gambling, and Al-Ansab , and Al-Azlam (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaitan's (Satan) handiwork.
So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) cursed ten with regard to alcohol:
the one who squeezes (the grapes etc),
the one for whom it is squeezed,
the one who drinks it,
the one who carries it,
the one to whom it is carried,
the one who pours it,
the one who sells it
and consumes its price,
the one who buys it
and the one for whom it is bought.
That's not very nice. So Allah doesn't like God's creations? Blessed are the grapes and the vines. Pass the cup. The disciples in the Upper Room might have thrown garbage scraps in thy direction for those mean sentiments. In Bacchus we care.

Considering how much damage addiction to alcohol causes, to one self, to the loved ones, to the community, and how difficult it is to recover from it and make a life for oneself - avoiding alcohol is not just good advice, it is life saving. Not everyone can handle alcohol.

Well, addition is never good. But I wasn't talking about additive ways and circumstances. Balance and moderation came to my mind, as with Jesus and the disciples when they met in the evenings.
A lot of people avoid alcohol but then eat like the devil with crap "food". That will take them out long before a nice glass of vino would.

.
People in recovery as well as sober will always identify themselves as alcoholic. This is because they are one sip from falling off the wagon and they acknowledge it every sober moment. They do not drink for the taste but to become drunk.
Balance and moderation is healthy. But so is is avoiding it altogether. That was what the quote was indicating, I think.
In God we don't do tattoo for ourselves or for others
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said
Allah has cursed such a lady as lengthens (her or someone else's) hair artificially or gets it lengthened, and also a lady who tattoos (herself or someone else) or gets herself tattooed

It's amazing to me that anyone would actually think that a god who creates universes on a whim gives a flying crap what women do with their hair or whether someone gets a tattoo.
These sorts of intrusive rules sound suspiciously like mortal humans using god as a means to construct the kind of society THEY want - without any regard to what anyone else wants. Especially in regards to activities that do no harm to anyone - not even to the ones doing it.
What is even more amazing to me is how general practitioners (the medical kind) will tell you that some 80% of all patients visit them due to some kind of stress-related issue.
It's incredible how all of this stress, we bring upon ourselves. It used to be that humanity had to stress over things like, say, wild animals, a bad harvest, having enough food for the winter, whether the wife will survive childbirth - or whether the children will survive their infancy.
Why do we need more things to stress over? Like what a god thinks about our hair styles? Screw him. I just wish society would lay off so many of the useless things we do that cause so much stress. But no, of course no one will, and general practitioners will continue to have waiting rooms full of people wringing their hands over the latest stress-inducing issue.
Who cares if someone drinks? Sure, you don't want people drinking to excess and beating on their wives or driving drunk or neglecting their children. But the reason why alcohol was such a big deal thousands of years ago is because, for the "peasantry," it was often the only thing to drink. Clean water was difficult to come by. You can't just waltz over to the sink and turn on the tap. Beer and wine (which one depends on location) on the other hand, were cheap and plentiful.
It's actually a bit nonsensical that a god from a desert culture would forbid the drinking of alcohol - for the reasons I just stated. Because, uh, water isn't exactly everywhere in the desert.
But more importantly - these religious rules are nonsense. It still boggles my mind why a universe-creating, life-crafting god would get so worked up over seeing a woman's hair. That's both absurd and ridiculously petty - even for a human being, much less an all-powerful God. If Allah or whichever god hates female hair so much, why not just create nothing but bald women? Hmm?
In God we must fast in the month of Ramadhan
we don't eat and don't drink and no Intercourse from Sun rise until Sun set
O you who believe! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you,
so that you may guard (against evil).
For a certain number of days;
but whoever among you is sick or on a journey, then (he shall fast) a (like) number of other days;
and those who are not able to do it may effect a redemption by feeding a poor man;
so whoever does good spontaneously it is better for him;
and that you fast is better for you if you know.
The month of Ramazan is that in which the Quran was revealed,
a guidance to men and clear proofs of the guidance and the distinction;
therefore whoever of you is present in the month, he shall fast therein,
and whoever is sick or upon a journey, then (he shall fast) a (like) number of other days;
Allah desires ease for you,
and He does not desire for you difficulty, and (He desires) that you should complete the number
and that you should exalt the greatness of Allah for His having guided you and that you may give thanks.
