when i saw the thread title, what occurs to me is that Jesus was a Jew. So the real religion of Jesus is Judaism. Everything he lived, breathed, read, studied, followed, and taught throughout his life was Judaism. He was born a Jew, lived as a Jew, and died as a Jew.

So what? You always tell us it's just a different path to the same place.

The "So What" is that too many (if not most) Christians seem to forget or ignore that FACT, Phet! Jesus' Christianity is an attempt to revise the belief about God's True Nature and the principle behind all the "commands" (agape love) as what God actually wants from us. It is NOT a new religion!

There will be no more poverty anywhere in the world - there will be no inflation, no homeless, no food shortage, no children sleeping hungry, affordable healthcare cost.

Most of human suffering is because of our lust and greed to accumulate.
Wealth is not evil in itself, but IMO the vast individual accumulation of multi-billions IS!

The Bible does not decry money, but the LOVE of money, as the root of all evil.

But there's a good argument that beyond a certain point (we can debate exactly what, but I use $1 billion of net worth as a VERY safe figure for purposes of discussion, I think a tenth of that would probably suffice), no one has any business accumulating any more. At some point you simply don't need it for any legitimate purpose. At that point the love of money, or at least of the power that money buys, becomes paramount. There's also a reason for the aphorism, "he has more money than sense".

It’s not an unfair point, although (1) it’s not inconsistent with the (equally valid) points that QuakerBaker makes, and (2) I don’t think that QuakerBaker would dispute Jesus’ theological origins in that regard.

Jesus did not come to invent a religion.
In fact the only recollection I have of Jesus actually getting angry is with organized religion — it’s greed (money changers), it’s lies, its lack of forgiveness and fairness, it’s manipulations….

Organized or 'disorganized' religion as found in the 23rd chapter of Matthew.
Jesus gave his reasons for his pronounced ' woes ' to those corrupted religious leaders.
The Christian congregation was founded at Pentecost - Acts chapter 2
After the apostles died off the scene then 1st-century Christianity became corrupted - Acts 20:29-30
Genuine ' wheat' Christians would grow together for centuries with the fake 'weed/tares' Christians until the Harvest Time.
Harvest Time meaning our day or time frame leading up to Jesus' coming Glory Time of separation - Matthew 25:31-34,37
