This dude is a snake handler. They are my favorite type of Christian.
They don't skip the verse about picking up snakes and drinking poison like all the other Christians do.
Since Mark 16:9-20 is not original to the Gospel of Mark there is little point in mentioning Mark 16:18 which mentions picking up serpents and drinking deadly poison. The practice of doing so is based on a later addition to the Gospel. There is another alternate ending to Mark as well. But you probably already know that.

Yes. I think I first heard that from a Church of Christ kid in high school.
But since the Bible is often and repeatedly referred to as "the perfect book" and "inerrant" in its current form... with Mark 16:18 included. I consider it kind of silly that it is still in the text considering what you posted.
Or what you posted is silly considering it is still in the text.
But I certainly don't blame you for not picking up snakes regardless. .

In fairness, even fundamentalists agree that verse is in a passage at the end of the gospel of Mark that was a later addition and probably doesn't even belong there. Scholarship agrees with this. So when I was a fundie I never felt obligated to obey it as actual scripture.
I remember seeing some news program in the 90s about a snake-handling church that played loud rock music. They looked like they were really having a good time. Now that's more my kind of thing. But I won't watch any preacher on YouTube. Egad that'd be awful.
