You may have read in the news about the Whoopi Goldberg suspension because she said Jewish is not a race.
I don't care about Whoopi. She's not my question.
Is Jewish a race?
Maybe we have some posters who are Jewish who could explain this to me.

I think the fact is that the Nazis considered the Jews a separate race from their German "Aryan" race and that was the motivation for their evil deeds.
Being Jewish can also be a cultural/religious thing, but the holocaust context was racial.

With that said, I don't like to see people "canceled" or suspended. I think it is a time to learn and listen, not condemn.
Personally I see no problem with condemning evil words or actions. I condem Nazis, white supremestists, sex trafficers, those who support genocide, and many other horrific ideas.
As little use I have for religion it is definitely not in the same class as neo Nazis or the KKK or radical religious extremists

I meant that I don't support trying to cancel or suspend Whoopi Goldberg for her comments which she didn't mean to hurt anyone. I think she was wrong, but I think education and compassion go a long way.

Now i totally agree with you. Being suspended for two weeks for not understanding how the Nazis viewed race was wrong. Instead bring in a guest to explain it to Whoopi and more importantly to thevshows audience
