Remember that feeling?
And if you recall this feeling was before Maria fell 'in love' with C. Plummer.
This is what I present to every soul here...if you are not feeling this elation, you are missing
why you were born.
..with songs they have sung for a thousands years...
The thing is...you know it...you know you are missing something....because that is what you were
meant to feel...that is Home. It really is that simple.
The hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs they have sung for a thousand years
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears
I don't want to come across as a buzzkill I think it's great to have euphoric feelings if it's not harming others. But I think anyone could feel the same feeling, not just Christians, but any religion including atheists and terrorists (especially just before killing themselves and others).
Interestingly, I'm on the opposite end. The less I believe in God, the more alive I feel. The more I want to love and be loved by other humans. The more I want to cherish the natural world. The more I want to have deep, meaningful experiences, especially those nearing the end of life. And live a more meaningful life myself, take full advantage of each day on a mission of love.

What would we have done without Rogers and Hammerstein?

Religion is a powerful, mind-altering drug. It can produce feelings of euphoria and have other psychological benefits.
But like any powerful mind-altering drug, there are potential dangers: the possibility of addiction/ dependence, loss of contact with reality, negative effect on families, strained relationships, and so forth.
In extreme cases, people under the influence of religion will kill themselves or others, as we saw on 9-11 and have seen throughout history.

Yup, and I thought about maybe this would be better in Psychology. You weren't a buzzkill!

Good! You know, I interpreted your original message as "Since I'm a Christian, I have a special connection to God where I can hear the hills sing".
But your question could have been meant as "I see the beauty in nature and have such a deep, profound love for God's creation that it touches my soul and puts music in my head. " In that case
As humans we're flawed and it's tough to communicate and easy to misinterpret things, especially scriptures.
