The Chosen People - Torah.org
Don't know whether this should be in Philosophy section or Religion section.
Anyway, Does God (or can God) discriminate?
Those are two separate questions. Of course He CAN. The real question is whether or not He DOES. Since He is no respecter of persons . . . the answer is He does NOT. The only discrimination that matters is against people.

I think you are asking two different questions here.
Does God discriminate? No, I don't think he does.
The title of this thread asked if one believes in the idea of the chosen people.
The OT of the Bible is of the Jews, for the Jews, by the Jews. The Bible is the genealogy of Jesus from Adam and Eve to Jesus. In the Bible, the Jews are God's chosen people. In some other holy book, those people are probably looked at as "the chosen people". When one is dealing with the Bible, the Jews are the subject of the book and therefore, are the chosen people.
