I don't usually quote scripture but:
1 corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God

14:34-35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

The problem really arises when people still try to apply this crap right now, and they do and it's scary monsters time. IMO, of course and just an FYI: The man who buys into this "I am the head of the woman crap" won't make a good husband.

Here are some examples:
1. Adam and Eve’s daughters: names not mentioned in the bible (3 of their sons – Cain, Abel, and Seth – are mentioned).
If you check the texts that are left out of the Bible, you'll find that they also had two daughters. Cain took Malalah as his wife, and the other was married, by Adam, to Seth when Seth was 14 years of age. But, that is in the "left out text".

3. Lot’s two daughters: names not mentioned in the bible even though both of them had drunken sex in a cave, with their father, Lot, and bore him two sons (Moab and Benammi) .
Also does not mention if it was the daughters, Lot, or all three that were drunk.

Again, left out text.

Oh, and I'm afraid T-Rex wasn't around anymore. By that time, T-Rex wasn't even in anyone's memory.

The story goes a bit different in the original version. No, the original version is not in the bible.

So, do you think the bible is sexist? Yes or no.
Yes.

Uh, I'm not exactly seeing the "Good News" here.

I'm hoping that wasn't a reference to me.....I'm in the flesh, thank you. Also I gave up being a Liberal when I went through Soviet Check Point Marienborn in 1982, and I'm not prophesying anything, I'm merely reporting the horrors that Jesus has perpetrated on people.

Do you have any facts to support your position?

Questioning...

Can someone tell me why woman are referred to ( in the bible) as the "daughters of man", and men are referred to as the "sons of god"?

Depends on what you're reading.

According to Biblical text, the "Sons of God" were angels that came down to earth and mated with daughters of mankind.

According to the ancient clay tablets, they were "Lessor Gods" that came down and mated with the daughters of mankind.

So, the "Sons of God" were not of this earth. And, the "daughters of man" were of this earth. That would suggest the reason for the distinction.

Now, if you want to look at it through the eyes of the "Ancient Aliens", it's another entire book.

You would think that at least 30 of those kids would have been able to escape/run away/break a land-speed record for running/”get ghost”/climb a tree/find the adult(s) who should have been supervising 42 kids/etc. while those 2 bears were busy mauling the other 12 kids, but I guess 2 bears (not 42 bears… 2 bears ) can maul 42 children faster than we think, huh?

If CNN reported that 2 bears (2 bears, not 42 bears) had mauled 42 boy scouts in the woods (or an open field, or anywhere else), would you believe the story ?

If you want a document that tells you how to behave towards, others try the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Forget something as imperfect as the bible. And forget any decent guidance from the bible regarding stewardship the enviroment, respecting and not mistreating animals, etc. etc. The Bible was not bad for the people of its time. Today it can be seen as clearly lacking, with lots of anger and genocide, revenge and judgmentalism. Not something to base a present-day civilized society on.

Even if it doesn't mention the women's names, it certainly doesn't try to portray men in a more positive light than women. Look at the patriarchs, Jonah, David, the apostles. Just to name a few.

The preceding chapter talks about the line of godly men from Seth to Noah. Your question refers to some of their descendants who married outside of the faith, because they were more interested in the physical attractiveness of those women, rather than women who shared a common faith to their own.

...Also, people of faith are called "children of God" or "sons of God" in the book of Romans.
