It's very comfortable to fall into thinking that someone cares, is looking out for you, but mathematicaly everything happens and can be explained -the good, the indiferent and the bad -without invoking that special person.
so if you believe Its all up to faith, you either believe or not.

Good post....I think. If one sidesteps the effort needed to put down the beer, turn off the TV and do some reading up in the evidence, then 'believe or not' faith is comfortable enough and, after all, why not? If there is no god, then just getting through life comfortably is all we can ask for.

But just what do we believe or not? Whatever is easy to hand - the religious worldview current in your locality. That's comfortable enough and won't cause your neighbours to cold - should you when you don't turn up at the local church, temple or mosque.

But we humans have evolved as a pesky bunch. Always poking around, exploring, looking to see what's what, and sometimes it gets profoundly unsettling being too darn comfortable .
