But which generation was it that, increased government handouts, runs the media and gave out stimulus checks?
The ones accepting this as a part of their lives are the problem.
If someone hands you free drugs, do you blame the drug dealer for making you a drug addict? Or yourself for accepting and consuming the drugs to get a quick "feel good" moment? Drug addicts expect and demand drugs from their dealers.
If the government promises you free handouts, do you blame the government for making you dependent on government handouts, welfare programs, etc.? Or yourself for accepting and depending on these handouts to get a quick "feel good" moment? These folks end up expecting and demanding of handouts at the cost of hard-working taxpayers.

I blame both. However, according to you, its only the current generation who is at fault.
As it is, I havent seen this laziness you hare talking about. This may be a local issue to where you are at.
Regarding the subject of the thread: "Free community college proposed for 2 years for Americans"
- Do you think such a program should be offered to citizens? (yes or no)
- IF the funding for this proposal will come from elsewhere, like shifting money from another federal program that already has plenty of funding, and thus will not raise taxes, would you support this education expansion program? (yes or no)
It is a good idea. Screw the partisan crocodile tears about funding. The idea of free access to community college is beneficial to the students, their parents, the economy and productivity. That increased revenue will pay for it. That will also cut the student debt burden. Not everyone needs four years of college, but they need something beyond K-12. Some states already have free tuition programs, and nobody is whimpering about it.
Personally I think that it isnt a bad idea for those who show that they want to learn. Put some requirements in, such as your GPA needs to stay at a certain level and require some community service. Either before attending or while attending.

Make people earn it.
I fully support this.
Don't scholarships and grants given to high school graduates with certain test scores and GPAs already pay for this though? I believe most states have programs like this?

Not everyone qualifies for a scholarship for whatever reason. If this was for mainly vocational schools, I wouldnt have any problem with that either.
He's worse than a hoarder with all the buying he's doing with other people's money.
