Yes add "McCarthy was wrong" to the list of things I was wrong about.

Killing innocents is wrong. Whether Hamas does it or Israel does it. So I guess the question really becomes "who started it" because neither side can claim to be Gandhi.

And that is something I never grappled with. But Israel started it. By occupying Gaza since 1967. By instituting a blockade so severe in 2005, it actually led to a rise in neonatal mortality for the first time in 50 years (since records) were kept in Gaza.

Hamas responded to an immoral occupation on Oct 7. It committed some immoral acts, but actually in proportion Hamas is a lot better than the IDF. Out of 1200 or so victims on Oct 7, 700 or so are civilians. That means that Hamas' civilian/combatant ratio is 60-70%. Not good obviously. But the IDF is worse. 90% of people killed in IDF air strikes/shelling are civilians and 60+% are women and children. More infants have been killed by IDF bombs in Gaza than the total civilian casualty ratio on Oct 7.

Facts don't lie. If killing civilians is a sin for Hamas, it's a sin for the IDF.

last response on this point HERE, there is an ethical, legal and moral difference between TARGETING an innocent on purpose and streaming the kill shot, as Hamas did, vs the IDF telling everyone 24 hours in advance 'I am going to bomb place x' and then Hamas tying said innocents TO that place. Which is what happened. WE dont want collateral to happen, but it does, but this is not the same as planned murder. religious or not.

How many years back did Israel end the occupation and institute self rule? 19 years ago the troops and settlers left? hmmmmmm

All my favorite bands in the 60s weren't playing live at the radio station across town.

And my mom is not a witch.

I was wrong thinking that women would finally reach equality in most of our lives. In fact, I thought by now, we had matured enough as a country not see see these stupid culture wars and intolerance towards others.
I also was wrong to think schools and public places were safe. I am also very wrong how blatantly we accept “wrongdoing ” because people admiration of some personality or heads of states in some capacity.

You're right. Trans women have pretty much destroyed real women in sports.

I was wrong in believing that all people are created equally. No two people are equal. Everyone should be treated equally under the law, but we most definitely are not all equal. Not even close.

That is an excellent realization.

When Facebook went public, I didn't think they'd be a big player AND I thought it was a mistake for Zuckerberg to be the CEO, that he wouldn't last in that position. LOL.

I've been wrong about any number of things. Thankfully most were inconsequential. However, with a hypothetical time communication device I would tell my younger self not to refuse a certain Bitcoin gift from a friend.

I was wrong to believe that the Judicial Branch of Government would protect Citizens from corrupted Lawsuits and that Judges would be impartial and follow Law.

Same thing for the Federal Investigation departments. We now see that both departments are not impartial and are very political.
