go on Amazon and search for t-shirt bags as that's what they're called for some reason

wow, thank you for that information! strangely, i for one never thought those can be bought in bulk by an ordinary consumer.

question is - will strassberger throw a fit if someone buys them on their own for household trash? the ban in the city of pittsburgh applies to retailers using them.

Good question.

I see the Snap/food stamp people are exempt, so no .10 fee for them. So I guess they will have to tell the cashiers they are on food stamps. Sounds interesting as many probably don't want to announce it. That part sounds awkward. Glad it is only a city thing. Those in the burbs, no worries.

Don't be concerned. The cashier will know when they use their SNAP/ACCESS card.

Really? By the time the card comes out the groceries are bagged, so the dime is in there. Going to have to tell the cashier now it seems to me. Going to be interesting.

Colorado started a ban this year. There was some grumbling, but now everyone uses sturdy reusable bags. Biggest difference is that I no longer get any windblown plastic bags into my yard. Very windy here so I was always picking them off my lawn and out of my fence. Now nothing. Use once, throw it away seems immoral.

I'm really not a fan of governments banning things, especially such as this, but I agree with the intention of the ban. I prefer paper bags anyways and they don't give off microplastics.
