Fantastic photos AlaskaRain. Wolves are my favourite animals since I was a child, I find their societal structure and intelligence mesmerizing. And their utter beauty too.
You are one lucky person to be able and get so close.

I have only seen them from a distance sadly , in Eastern Europe and Canada and heard them whilst camping.

Like sharks they get such a bad PR, possibly thanks to Fairy-Tales and superstitious folk-lore.

I saw this documentary recently in the UK of this chap they call the Wolfman who has spent years actually living with them and being accepted as one of the pack.

His wife ( and kids) left him which is hardly a surprise but the programme was a fascinating insight into the pack hierarchy.

Last time I heard of him , he was doing recordings of Wolf-Packs and doing experiments in Poland to see if "broadcasting" the sound of one pack would deter the local one from attacking this farmer's livestock. The farmer refused to trap the Wolves or shoot them but wanted a "humane" way to deter them.
It did seem to work though the experiment was in its early stages.

Anyway , sorry for the completely off-topic rant. Bravo once again for the photos.
More please.

Here are a few pictures I have of a couple animals from the petting Zoo a few hours away from where I live.
I thought that cub had beautiful blue eyes..

Her eyes were also real pretty!

Yes it is a real possum. He was born that way. Kinda feel sorry for the thing but couldn't help but laugh at him. The Zoo will keep him permanently due to him not being able to survive in the wild.

That's all I wanted to share

While kind of sad in reality, I had to giggle at the opposum!

No animal eyes from me, but here is a pic of my son's eyes from a little over a year ago. His eyes have always been a mix of colors.
