I don't go to bars, so the answer is no. However, I might take my dog to a restaurant that had a nice shady outdoor seating section where pets are allowed, as long as it wasn't too crowded and frantic..
I am not attention seeking so it's not something I would do.
Ferrets smell and are hyperactive. Can they be potty trained?
Ferrets smell? Not anymore. Any ferrets bought the last 20 years are de-scented, as a selling point.
Ferrets are super easy to potty train. Put a paper in each corner of the room and they gravitate to the corner to do their potty. Change the paper every other day. And you can also train them to use the litter box.
You want to know something about Ferrets, there's hundreds of Youtube video's on Ferrets, pro's and con's. A good number of Youtube Ferret video's are now coming from China as well as Japan. In Tokyo they now have a Ferret Superstore downtown where you can even pamper your ferret with a diamond encrusted leash.
I walk my ferret on a leash for 8 to 10 blocks every single night.
There's been a lot of talk lately about people bringing kids to breweries and it isn't all positive talk either. I don't think kids are allowed at bars, but then I think it depends on the state laws and if the bar serves food. Personally, I'd rather see a ferret at a bar than have a bunch of screaming kids running around.

I'd rather see a grizzly bear in a bar than a bunch of kids.
We take our dog where he's allowed. Outdoor restaurants mostly. I'm surprised at how many of such places do not allow dogs. He's not allowed to bother people or other dogs.

Read my comment. Does that sound like I was seeking attention? Or perhaps I didn't want to leave my dog in the car or alone at home, when we were in the middle of MAJOR winter storms? And when traveling with a dog, that is another time one might take them into a (dog-friendly) restaurant or bar. Sometimes it's more about convenience and safety.
Given most animals sensitivity to sound, why would someone take them to a bar?
Not all bars are loud. The one in my town is more like a Cheers kind of place - older locals sitting on barstools, chit-chatting and passing the time in a relatively civilized/quiet manner. They do have live music one or two nights a week, and on those nights they actually don't allow dogs. When there's no music, they are welcomed!
I don't think y'all know what OP meant by "dive bar." Usually they're like what I just described, while I think most of you are envisioning more of a "night club" environment.
