I don't know how Coto is now, but it used to be all down to earth people who were in the horsey set. They lived in Coto to be able to ride easily.

As a resident of Los Alamitos for the past 25 years, I chose that one, but there are others that merit a mention. I ride my bike up and down PCH on a regular basis thru Huntington, Newport and Laguna Beach, and Dana Point, and it never gets old. I used to commute right by UCI (my daughter's alum) on the way to Lake Forest. All the streets and roads are wide, tree-lined boulevards, the weather is always great and the drivers are for the most part courteous. I am going to miss all this when we move to TX, if we ever really do. I'm starting to wonder. What I won't miss is the high cost of gas and the state income and sales tax.

I love Dana Point because of family memories when I was little. Today it has one of the few neighborhoods I love in OC to buy a new construction home on the beach….BUT now ITA with you about Laguna Beach being #1 since my husband & I put in an offer on a new home there.

I think Laguna Beach is the nicest coastal city and Coto de Caza is the nicest inland OC city.

As already stated, though, Coto de Caza isn't a city and really shouldn't be on the list. It's a private gated community. You need to drive all the way out for any little need.

Laguna for natural beauty.

Emerald Bay if we're talking houses.

And LOL at Garden Grove even being on the list.

Yep.

I remember when Newport Coast didn't exist and that was 'open land' (heading 'east' on PCH towards Laguna Beach).
