Jessaka,

I was looking forward to the sound of the wind from the pine trees. I didn't even think about the ground going barren under them. Maybe, three trees will be enough to generate the sound. Also, we were trying to decide whether to plant fruit trees here, and wondering if they would attract more bugs and beatles. Lately, the peaches and necterines we get from the markets are mealy, dry and sometimes black inside. I'm going to plant a white peach seed I brought from CA and see what the results will be in maybe five years or so. That is a very long time to wait.

I wish that the sound I heard in the trees here sounded like wind in the pines instead of a freight train.

i planted 2 apple trees, which you need to produce apples, one apricot, one necterine, and one peach. We have so many bugs here I don't think you will notice whether they attrack more or not. in the fall the leaves get fungus, but i am told that they will come back in the spring. i am supposed to be spraying them. hopefully next year i will have some fruit.

the fruit here is pretty bad, but it was bad in california. they are picking fruit when it isn't ripe. early on the fruit was okay, but late in the season it was like what you are talking about, so i quit buying it. i can get better fruit frozen. if you ever get an apricot tree it won't produce but after every 3 years since we get an early frost. what i don't understand is that there are no farmer's markets here with good fruit. you may want to plant another peach tree while you wait for the other to grow.

We only have one (and a rather pitiful one at that )... It still makes a lovely sound when the wind blows.

We had 2 different pine trees on the west coast and nothing would grow under them, but the one we have here doesn't affect the lawn at all! Grass grows right up to the trunk. Wonder if it has something to do with the variety of pine?

I'm finding small thin wiggly bugs that appear to have no legs in my home. either on the carpet or my sink. they appear to have no legs, the body looks like its a long sac and the head is the only thing that seems to be separate. Is this a larva stage of an insect? I dont see how the get where they go..all I see is that they wiggle. Between them and huge flyging roaches I'm sure there are termites. The landlord doesnt seem to care but I've spent in excess of 350.00 on pesticides, caulking and now I use boric acid constantly. What are these black, long skinny no leg bugs?
