This year has been exceptionally hot. I'd say on a scale of 1 to 10 for hot summers this one is about an 7.5 or an 8.

But yes, on the whole SE Oklahoma isn't going to be any improvement on Florida in the core of the summer months... albeit a bit less humid. The main thing is that summers are shorter than Florida. Unfortunately SE Oklahoma gets winter that Florida doesn't get.

I think SE OK won’t feel as hot as Fla or as constantly humid. It is hot in summers but a shorter period than Fla. I grew up in Durant home go SE OSU a directional four year college. Antlers is a nice area not too far from Durant or some nice good sized Texas cities like Denison, Sherman etc for medical needs and DFW for major air travel if needed. Out in the country around there might be good spot to consider.. it’s 4 season feeling just short lite winters usually.
