More likely running out of room and water for pot farms. Neither Cali nor Virginia have a problem with illegal aliens which btw is now "non citizens" which in tern is not particularly endearing to those non citizens legally in the US.

Unfortunately the illegal pot growers in California are not close to running out of room and water yet, and law enforcement can't keep up. In California, all of the organized crime outfits are getting in on it. Asians or not, organized crime knows how to profit from pot. This could be where Oklahoma is heading.

From a news article:

"The rise of Mojave Desert pot farming began shortly after California voted to legalize marijuana in 2016. Ever since, black-market growers have flocked to the desert, which offers a near-perfect environment for large-scale farming: endless sunshine, cheap open space and virtually no police. Though desert pot does require enormous amounts of water, growers have discovered that that they can buy or steal all they need."

"Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies within the last few monthshave counted 500 such illegal grow sites from the air — a huge jump from the 150 tallied last year. In San Bernardino County, sheriff’s deputies have come across 860 illegal sites. The farms have become so numerous that one outraged resident posted drone footage of one greenhouse after another filling a one-mile stretch of desert in Twentynine Palms."

Please do not tell some posters. Grass is vital to survival! OT - can you smoke hot peppers instead?

Same to you friend it's been awhile.

I don't know if I would use the term "huge influx" is fitting in this context but I suppose if you're from a small town and you're not used to seeing people of color or minorities, then I suppose you would probably get all freaked out.

We have grow operations popping up down here around I-40 and Okemah oh, and I was told they are Vietnamese people.
Now I'm wondering if the locals don't know the difference between Chinese and Vietnamese by sight. LOL

I think it's a business venture and someone somewhere is going to take advantage of this supply and demand situation brought on by the medical marijuana ruling.

I do know there's a lot of mom and pop operations and a lot of people in the rural areas are growing their own. Which I think is great, but I don't know if they can reach the quality of some of these more professional grow operations.

I live near a town that is the county seat with a population of 5000 and we have three MM dispensaries.

I never thought I'd see the day when I can walk into the store here in Oklahoma and pick up some good weed. Well actually I've been smoking since 1972 and my lungs are cooked so I am opting for the edibles. And I have found that they really helped my neuropathy.

OKC has large Vietnamese community. The best butcher I found so far is smack there

As far as weed is concerned - Mustang has got you beat. We have drive throughs and more weed shops than beauty shops. I stick to my own vices.

Speaking of Asians - what happened to Jester?

The solution is simple make it legal on a federal level and there will be nowhere for the illegal growers to sell to. Illegal booze was only a problem during prohibition. America does not have a bootlegging problem in 2022.
