In AK, things were spendy, just like they are in OK. Can't go by food, either, in that same part of MO we used to have grits and hominy and fried cornmeal mush for breakfast, and chicken fried steak and gumbo and deep fried okra, and used every part of a pig but the squeal.

I think it's whatever it is to you. OK has something different for everyone within it's borders.
How can Nevada be considered a coastal state when it's not on the coast?

Come on Karibear...your starting to sound like that 21 year old girl elected as District Supervisor in Milwaukee, who said (on tape) that Arizona was not a Border state..

Oklahoma is in the Iberian Peninsula or Inner Mongolia. Arkansas is more Pacific Northwest.

I swear, I didn't make it up. I read about it in some online news thing. It was kind of a weird article, divided the US into 4 quarters - no Midwest at all, and some of the other states.... well, I think whoever came up with it needs to go back to school.

When I was in school in the 60's an 70's, in Geography class, Oklahoma was always grouped with the Midwestern states. The "Border" state of Kentucky was grouped with the Southern states and Missouri was always grouped with the Midwest states, along with Oklahoma. While Maryland and Delaware was grouped with the Mid-Atlantic states. That's how we were taught in Muncie, Indiana, 1965-1973.

Same in the 50's and 60's in NW Michigan.
