Spending does not drive the economy. Producing and saving does.

If all you do is spend you become poor. If you produce and save you produce wealth.

Why do people think that spending will somehow make them wealthy?

You are correct. The purpose of the Federal Reserve is to make a profit for banks. They do this by printing money. They have no interest/concern for U.S. Citizens or anything besides the bank.

The Federal Reserve is also the ONLY cause of inflation.

It is not the "greedy" corporations as people pretend.

corporations want us to spend so stock prices on wall street go up, then they get stock options worth millions more than their salaries, its all what have you done for me today, they can't plan ahead or some corporate raiding company will buy them up and kick them out of their phoney baloney jobs. now they are upset because people are saving money instead of driving stock prices up even more then they were last week. you are right savings drives an economy but when the interest rate is 1 or 2 percent you are borrowing almost for free and you get instant gratification. then you have people making 65000. a year buying 400,000 houses that are 4 or 5000 square feet when the old rules said you buy a house no more than 3 times your income. then you defer paying any principal for years so you can afford the mortgage. i have a solution no one ever wants to hear its an old idea the banks hate and that is to make house loans on a simple interest loan like a car payment. if you get a 33,000 mortgage today you pay back 3 times that amount, its all interest up front mostly so you are 10 or 15 years before any large equity but with the simple interest you have the house paid off quicker and cheaper, easier to sell, more people could afford to buy and the loan would be paid off quicker and you would need a down payment but that makes a better investment anyways and you would be saving so much money over the life of the loan it would be worth a good down payment. this is my big thing now, changing mortgage loans to what the people want and need.
