Does anyone happen to know someone living in one of the apartments at Village at Leesburg? I'm very curious if it's a fun place to live--it looks like it might be, but you never know.

I'm talking about the "Town Center" that's next to the Leesburg Wegmans. It has apartments and condos on top of stores and restaurants. There's an upscale bowling alley that I hear is a fun place to get drinks, as well a variety of pub and restaurants (some chain, some independent). Some of the ethnic food places have gotten rave reviews in the local paper. There's banking, dry cleaning, dental, a gym, a movie theater, a few fun stores, and most of all--Wegmans! It also has tree-lined streets, lots of places to sit and (IMO anyway) an inviting appearance. There's a big park nearby, you're right on a major road, and also between Leesburg and Ashburn.

This sounds like a great combo to me, and I could really see the appeal of living right next to Weggies. So, this place strikes me as a wonderful place to live....

but....

is that the reality? Are there problems? Is it noisy to live near restaurants and pubs? Are there problems with parking, traffic, etc? Any opinions on this place? Is it Paradise found, or Paradise lost?

I've looked into it as well. I've talked to a couple of different people who lived there and the only real complaint seems to be the noise...which apparently kicked up a notch when the theater opened. Love the location though.

LOL there's already a wait list for the studios? I guess the price is right but a studio would be too small for me. You'd think the one bedrooms would be more popular than studios.

Maybe one of these days when I have an afternoon to kill I'll head up there and check it out. I could even go for the complete looky loo and check out One Loudoun on the way home. I hear they're doing open houses now.

I live there, and it is nice. Depending on what side of the building you're on, the noise can be a little bit of an issue, or not a problem at all. The Metropolitan is a dog friendly complex, and alot of people here have dogs, so I hope you like animals.

The pool and clubhouse are pretty nice, and the apartments are gorgeous. Nice kitchens, tall cabinets, islands, new appliances.

Altogether a pretty cool place to live if you can take advantage of all the places in the village.

LOL I think that may be true no matter where you live around here. I've never seen such a pet friendly metro area.

Loveautumn has a long history on this forum, especially when she came out for a visit year or so ago. As I recall, she was especially fond of Waterford. Wow, was that already a year ago? Time's flying (hope that means we're having fun...).
