So is this just a way of getting around minimum wage laws or do these foreign workers get paid the NY minimum?
Why is this a way of getting around it. When I call any service over the phone they aren’t getting paid the wage where I live it’s the wage of where they are working from.
This is a smart business move. Not a way of getting around something. Keep raising costs of doing business business will either close or adapt.
In the article it says it's not clear how much they get paid.
But if I were going to bet on it, I would bet that they don't get paid the NY minimum.
Yeah...lol...they are getting a couple bucks an hour. Nothing new there, just basic off-shoring that's been going on for decades. Your broom, your trash bags, call center, new desk, modem...whatever.
If the order taker is a video image from a foreign country, who makes change if I'm paying cash ? (and I only pay cash if tab is $20 or less)
Hiding the fast food from the spouse by not putting it on the card?
I know a couple folks that do that.
