The anonymous survey of NFL players led to some dubious results for the New York Giants (and Jets) and Washington Commanders, whose stadiums were found to be among the worst to play in.
Out of 79 responses, MetLife Stadium (18.4 percent) was overwhelmingly voted the worst stadium to play in by NFL followed right behind by FedEx Field (13.9 percent).
The drab, gray look of the stadium — featuring slats on the outside that make it look like a big air-conditioning vent — has also been criticized. It is, of course, a compromise design between two franchises that cannot favor one or the other.
This is an opportunity for some positive press on the global stage, yet with the trash bin of a stadium that is currently there, it could also be another PR disaster!
Should the stadium be spruced up in an attempt to ensure a positive result for this major event?
That survey is meaningless because the crux of the gripe is the turf, which is not relevant to the WC final. It looks drab from the outside and I too think it looks like a big AC unit. I wouldn't mind it looking more aesthetically pleasing. Inside and the amenities - it is a good stadium.
Eh, it's not that good. The atmosphere is pretty weak. Maybe it's because the teams playing there are so terrible year after year?
Amenities are mostly standard, but definitely not anything special.
The concourse is huge and you ever hardly have to wait for the bathroom despite 70k plus there, so that’s a start. Atmosphere was phenomenal for devils/flyers and rangers/isles just a couple weeks ago. It will be epic for the World Cup.
Without being jazzed up for the WCF, I imagine it would get roasted online for its blandness.
We can't have that. I was thinking that we bedazzle the stadium to give it a little flair. Maybe bring in some washed up actors to greet people at the door. How about a opening act performance by Nickelback? That should give the venue some online respect.
