Pickpocketing is always a concern, in any bar, and in any big city.
Be reasonable and cautious always. NYC is easy pickings for a lot of pickpockets because tourists let their guard down, and get drunk, then forget they are in a huge city of international tourists, residents, and many more criminals, as a result.
I don't go to bars, and I don't live in or visit New York, so I'm probably pretty safe from this particular crime. But I'm not safe from millions of people voting for the guy who invited the Third World hordes to jump the border and come on in. My only hope is for some of those millions to put two and two together and next time not vote for the guy who made it possible for these bar crimes, and lots of other problems, to take place.
