Can someone explain the purpose of the posters? I've seen posters in the past with something like "Person last seen in the Columbus Circle area" but if these people were last seen in Israel, what are the odds someone living in NYC will have seen them?

I assume the posters are to call attention to the plight of the hostages, some of which are American.
