I can't fathom why anyone would ride the subway unarmed, but whatever.

I've lasted 44 years without needing a gun or any other weapon. Think I'll keep it that way.

So have I. But if the day ever comes that we need it, you'll be begging for mercy. I'll be standing over a dead perp.

*shrugs* I've always lived by the attitude of when it's my time, it's my time. If that's my fate, then so be it. I can't live in a constant state of paranoia and fear. I'll take reasonable precaution, make reasonable choices, be aware of my surroundings and live my life.

I've never understood this concept of "you carry a gun, you're afraid."

Oh well.

The majority of criminals nowadays no longer fight, they shoot.... does that mean they’re afraid? Maybe, maybe not, they don’t want to waste time, neither do I, I have to be at equal arms. I can fight, they just don’t want to, and the greatest quality of human beings is adaptation so I guess I have to adapt.

The news media does not hesitate to include descriptions of the victims' race for crimes. But has decided to list only the vaguest details about a suspect's description in a crime. How is that supposed to help anyone? Especially those in the area who are looking out for similar persons. Instead we have descriptions like "Suspect is a man in hoody between 5' and 6' tall and weighting between 140 to 240 lbs."

The description would be much more helpful if it was "Suspect is a Caucasian/Black/Middle Eastern/Indian/East Asian/etc. (insert other race) man . . ." Yes, BLM and other advocacy groups are going to raise a hissy fit about stereotyping. This is not me saying it but various sources like the DOJ, the FBI, etc.

"Lower Manhattan seafood market "

What is this? The mafia dumping bodies in the Fulton Fish market again? The 1980s have returned.
