What were the reasons? Were they shell shocked by the 12 hr shifts?? Who gets that far & then decides to drop out??

12 hour shifts is a blessing for those taking paycuts. You always have to look at the big picture.

With so many people being detached from each garage, there will definitely be a new class(es) soon, I would think, no?

My garage alone is losing about 15 or so.
People that are staying will be happy too 'cuz they'll be making charts left and right.

Not sure, my friend who is detached to Rockaway said the detachment should last 8-10 weeks. So by January they should all be back in their old garages. But up until then the guys in Rockaway are making mega bucks guaranteed 12 hr days 7 days a week & the guys who stayed back will be making their charts to cover their absence. I wonder when the FBF guys will go back to FBf. From what I heard, in most places they are not allowed near a truck, so god only knows what they have them doing.

It can definitely be a shock to walk into 12 hour shifts and no days off. People hear about it as rumors but most probably rolled their eyes. Down at Staten Island 3 we have a batch of detached guys but they seem to have a good attitude about it. I heard four junior detached guys talking near the end of the 7am-7pm shift. From what i heard they were from a garage somewhere in the south bronx (1,2,3,4?) and they had the right attitude. Work it all, help clean up, take whatever money you can get, and whenever it's done, it's done and you go back.
