Queens west guys been going there the past few days.
No power really haults the cleanup since its pretty dangerous out there in the night. From what I seem and heard its limited to the day line.
Manhattan and Bronx have been sending collection trucks on the night line to Howard Beach and Rockaway every night. They were dumping stuff in Riis Park and in the Queens dumps. A few stopped to fuel up at Q8 last night and said it's like nothing they have ever seen before - loading out after just 2 or 3 houses.
I'm in a garage in Brooklyn South, love it here by the way. Coming back in tomorrow, even though its election day. I'm going to love the paycheck but I really want a day off, but hey welcome to emergency services I guess. Waiting to go back to FBF to finish training. Last week it was great being one of the only cars going over the Verrazano to get to work. Hopefully this gas situation gets resolved soon as well as all power outages. Good luck everyone and hang in there. Plus, fingers crossed, snow season is upon us, so hopefully we get back to FBF before December

Did anybody see Mayor Bloomberg thanking NY strongest in Rockaway today on the news? Show us how much you care your honor, and hire at least 200 more to help clean up. People need help and we need good jobs, its a win win situation.
agreed! sad to leave the garage we've been assigned. I also heard a few dropped out of the class, hopefully there will be another hire next year.
I heard 10 have dropped. One of em was with me.
