LOL @ mayorofnyc. If the Jets get knocked out next week, this thread will probably catch fire again.

Have any new details surfaced about that string of robberies in different locations in queens? The guys that go dressed in black and wear black ski masks and have robbed 8 or 9 different places already dating back since mid december and continuing on through the new year...

This might boost up the thread: Violence rises in New York City's housing developments, statistics show

Very informative. Looks like Manhattan and the BX's projects had the highest increases in crime.

I dont think thats all that surprising, because the numbers were from last year and last year we saw the spike in crime, I hate to use sobroguys words but those numbers will hold weight if we see them continue this year... one year does not make a trend, i gotta give him that.

I would like to see what the compstat numbers say for the first two week period though...

No major crime but this seems to be the norm on Staten Island these days.

Psycho... hes probably a schitzo... Those are the most dangerous people on earth, because they'll be nice to you in one moment, and then kill you and your family the next without realizing what they're doing... I would check him in to psychiatric care to make sure there isn't something else there besides anger management. It seems as if he just flipped.

Cops: Gang Of Thugs Targeting, Robbing Older Women In QueensCBS New York – News, Sports, Weather, Traffic and the Best of NY

It seems as if serial robberies is the new "in thing" this year. I believe this is the third different string of robberies that I've heard of so far. There was the group in Jamaica, one in Great Neck, LI another robbery was reported yesterday and I believe there was one in Staten Island early on this year don't know if they caught the guy.

One thing that they have been keeping quiet lately was the string of murders in LI where they found 4 bodies in the snow early this year... I don't know if they were able to catch the person responsible but these people all died within days of each other and there were dumped within a couple of blocks of each other as well... Hopefully this is just a random incident and not something worse... this would really send NYC into panic mode, if more negative news were to be discovered about this...

Scary crime stories have been few and far between lately..probably because it is too damn cold! The extreme cold and snow have been the story right now..maybe when we all start to defrost we can be "lucky" enough to have some horrible crime to talk about...and then the obsession can continue.
