Hello, in NYC Coney Island, you can see a faint outline of the Jersey Coast and at night some light from that area:

Two questions:

1. What area of New Jersey is directly across from the Coney Island area?

2. Can you see Coney Island from that area/ If so, how faint is the outline? Can you see landmarks like the parachute tower or Ferris Wheel?

Thanks

The answer really depends. Coney Island's shorefront affords a very wide-angle view across the Raritan Bay, you're looking at well over 10 miles of NJ and some Staten Island shoreline.

I know, hilarious. Coney Island is not a place that ever crosses my mind.

But, I can see faint, somewhat tall buildings across the water from the beach in Long Branch. I have looked on a map and at photos, and I am pretty sure it is Rockaway Beach.

Had to Google that name. LOL.

But I am pretty good at maps and geography, and I'm sure those buildings are not Coney Island.

LOL, I believe you. Just trying to introduce a little levity into the discussion.

I'm not sure what you are seeing,

Well, you can see NYC from Sandy Hook Beach in New Jersey on a clear day. There is a ferry from Atlantic Highlands, NJ (next to Sandy Hook Beach) which goes into lower Manhattan. It passes Coney Island to the east.

I think from Middletown, Bayshore Waterfront Park? I can't remember if I've seen the parachute jump, or just imagine I can.
