good, don’t move out of NJ. the healthcare is horrible anywhere outside of nj/ny/pa. doctors don’t even exist in the south. you’re lucky if some guy named Zeke can do your dental work with some pliers and a bottle of moonshine

Besides Florida having both schools and healthcare that are sub-par, that state's execrable weather is the leading cause of Florida having the highest insurance rates in the entire US. That includes car insurance, as well as home insurance.
If I had the misfortune to live there, my car insurance would cost more than twice what I am paying for full coverage in NJ, and my home insurance would cost approximately 9 times more than what I am paying in NJ.

When I was briefly considering a move to Florida, I quickly learned that the low property taxes were pretty much offset by the incredibly high homeowner’s insurance. Sure no state income taxes, but much lower salaries. I don’t think I would be living any better down there.

who said anything about Florida? People leave NJ primarily because of the property taxes.
I wonder how much the new property tax reductions for 65 and over will change that? Having property taxes cut in half at age 65 should make a big difference.
