According to Accuweather, Friday will bring a high of 18 and a low of 1 degree in Central NJ.
The "real feel" temps could be below zero, but your house and its pipes do not feel the "real feel" temperatures, and only the actual ambient air temperature is a factor with inanimate objects.
As to freezing pipes, something that can help if your house is not well-insulated is to leave the doors open on cabinets underneath your sinks, in order for heated air to circulate in that area. If the temps get really low, you could try leaving a faucet slightly open on both the hot & cold water lines. A slight drip-type of flow can help to prevent pipes from freezing.
Predictions are down to 0 F for my town. It could very well drop into the negatives. You never know.
Personally, I would rather enjoy life to the fullest 52 weeks a year
Right. 98 degrees with 99 percent humidity. too hot to leave the house. I lived in Florida for a year. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Most everyone I know that moved down either go for a few months or moved back.
Am I the only one looking forward to the cold snap? It'll be my first chance in a couple of years to try out the new heat tech longies and to wear a scarf. Too bad it'll be so short lived though. Would love to play hockey on the pond at Lincoln park.
Got an email from my township and it states temperatures as low as -20 to -30 this weekend. That is cold!
No. -5F to +5F Friday night. -20 is wind chill. Cold but not extreme.
