Time to pay or get off.
It is the employees who produce the profits and the dividends for the stockholders. The gravy train is the top executives who are paid 20 million each and thousands of stock options for whom the pay is never enough . They try to squeeze more for themselves at the expense of the employees, by paying less to the employees.

They can make as much as they want as long as they share a fair value with the workers who produced it for them.

they must, otherwise the employees would leave for other jobs. how else would you determine the appropriate "fair value" they should be sharing with the workers. whats the formula?

THERE IS NO FORMULA , It is the negotiation for fair wages and benefits package to compensate the employees for the profit the company has made. Employees are not looking to make what the top executives are making which is over compensated and corporate greed at 20 million for the top five executives.

They are a very profitable company and increase their profits each year even in this bad recession. They want to use the excuse of this recession to pay their workers less so to reiterate that those at the top can make even more money.

FYI Verizon wireless is non union so this strike does not affect your wireless plan prices going up.

sweet, so i have even less stake in this.

the positive of unions in private business is that the business has the ability to decide whether or not it can agree to demands and they will have to face the consequences of possibly not being competitive and needing to shut down. so verizon will make the right decision im sure.

The stockholders are being paid an increased dividend each year. This is because the efforts of all the employees that made the company profitable. Employees are only looking for a fair share of profit.
