It's not far from Maple Shade (only 3 miles and both are near the CH Mall) but Merchantville is a tiny dot relative to Cherry Hill and the M towns, to even be categorized. Some restaurants are located with a Merchantville address but few major chains if any. Apparently its students attend high school in Pennsauken.
Marlton has a little blur with Cherry Hill and maybe Voorhees as a few businesses on the east side of I-295 like to associate as Cherry Hill/Marlton. But it's Burlington County and is halfway (literally and figurately) between Cherry Hill and Medford which are very different from each other. It used to a long distance call (for a resident) from Cherry Hill to call someone in Medford. However, Marlton probably shares most in common with Mt Laurel in Burlington County, while Cherry Hill's closest common town in similarity is with Voorhees in Camden County.
