Hi, my name is Darren. My Gf and I will (possibly) be moving to SC in about a month and a half. She was offered a job in the Horry County district, she has asked me to keep the specifics underwrap for now. She is 22, and I will be 24 later this month. Right now we are mainly looking for stuff we are going to need, and looking for an apartment. We have talked to Chicora Apartments and that is likely the way we will go unless we find something in a closer area, or any other factors that might come up.

Here comes the inevitable first post questions. We have looked though the DMV website, but havent seen anything about inspections. Any info on them would be fantastic, frequency, costs, etc. We are comming from Niagara Falls NY, so seeing that its half the price to register our cars in SC then NY is awesome. Also any info about places we should check out in the area, or any info about available apartments would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have been looking for an automotive based forum for SC. Not having much luck. If anyone knows of one I would love that.

The state of SC eliminated annual vehicle inspections over 15 years ago. Stupid IMO, but it is what it is..

If you are looking for rentals and would like to speak to someone else, in addition to just Chicora, I would can provide another resource for you if you'd like. Send me a DM if you'd like more.
