I am looking for information on the Centex Barefoot Golf resort. Is this a nice community. Do people that live there like it? How is the golf and the beach resort? Thanks for any help.

I have a friend that owns a townhouse there and comes down from NJ about six or seven times a year with his family or with the guys to golf. I don't golf but they say the courses there are really good. The location is close to shopping, beach, restaurants etc...I know the prices have dropped a lot (obviously) because I have another friend looking to buy in there and most of the townhouses he has been looking at are now going for around $240,000 to $280,000 but were purchased a few years ago for much more.

It came with the purchase of his townhouse. Are you looking to buy in there? Some of them sell with the membership and you have to pay a transfer fee but some sellers offer to pay the fee for buyers. I'm going to send you a DM with more info.

We bought a golf villa there a couple of years ago. We love it! It's well-maintained and hubby LOVES being able to play golf whenever he wants to.
The golf membership came with the purchase of the property--if you don't buy into it when you purchase, it costs a BOATLOAD of money to join later!
If/when you sell your property, the golf membership is part of the deal--and that's what most buyers are looking for, anyway!

My inlaws have lived there for about 5 years now. They really like it and we like to visit. The neighborhood is maintained very well and the Resident's Club is nice. The beach cabana is ok. There isn't much parking. Plus I'm spoiled I guess with other places I've lived to have a pool at the beach, so I miss that there. Can't help you on the golf thing though, don't know the details. But my husband loves the courses and the Clubhouse is nice-we actually were married there.
