Grand Strand Water & Sewer provides water to both Little River and NMB. The water quality is considered good and when we first moved here, we drank tap water without any problems. The only drawback is that it has a slight chlorine smell but you don't taste it in the water. You can, however, tell a slight difference when drinking the filtered water from your fridge vs straight from the tap. While most people do not install a water filtering system, we chose to do so (whole house system) along with a water softener system. It ensures the same tasting water anywhere in the house and is easier on water heater (not as much crud in the bottom) which can make it last longer, and eliminates the need for a filter in the fridge. Is it necessary? Probably not as the GSWS water quality is pretty good.
