We're looking for a VERY ACTIVE community. Activities we enjoy include time with family and friends, faith, volunteer work, reading, self improvement, music, dancing, handyman, health and fitness, spectator sports, golf, tennis, bicycle riding, bowling, camping, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, surfing, scuba diving, boating, sailing, skiing, snowboarding, ....
We'd like to be close to the beach.
Single family home. HOA is fine. Price range $300k to $500k.

TY

You won't find much in the way of rock climbing on the coast of NC or SC.

Wilmington is more of a small city/suburbs with beach towns. Myrtle beach is a tourist beach area. Myrtle will be less expensive. I think Wilmington is nicer and has more of a variety of neighborhoods.

Myrtle Beach has many beautiful neighborhoods with established live oaks and interesting architecture outside of the downtown area. Wilmington’s historic downtown area is beautiful and quaint. I chose MB primarily because I wanted to be able to walk to the beach and, due to all the Yankee transplants, it does not feel as Southern conservative to me, more residents who share my values and interests. Both towns have a lot to offer, just need to explore both and spend some time in both before making a decision.
