Actually there are 2 dog parks , big dogs are separated from small dogs , across the street at the NMB Park and Sports Complex . Single family homes and yes you can fence in the back yard . That's what we will be doing when we get down there fulltime in August .

Yes, single family, yes you can fence. The dog park is right across the street from Park Pointe within the NMB Sports Complex.

Default Seven Month Update

Now that I've lived here seven months, here's my quick update on the area and Park Pointe in particular.

Love the area! We're really enjoying being four miles from the beach and are taking advantage of the walking/biking trails. Everything we need/want is close, and Park Pointe is nicely tucked away and quiet so we really appreciate the green space around us.

What we DON'T love is the builder, Realstar homes. We've built three new homes in the past (Midwest area) so we're not novices to new home construction. I have to say I'm severely disappointed with most of the subcontractors (including the rough-in crews) Realstar uses. The quality is lacking. I'm still waiting on a few items to be corrected, and some things that have been "corrected" have been done poorly. I now know a few companies NOT to hire directly for future work. Just wondering what else hasn't been done correctly that I can't see or experience...yet.

I wish I could recommend Realstar, but just can't do it.

Question for those of you living in Park Pointe...when you go to the beach, where do you go and do you have any trouble with parking in the summer?

We always go down to the Main Street area and beach a few blocks north of there . We are able to get parking passes thru the City of NMB . 2 per household to permanent residents . All we have to do show them our DL's and vehicle registrations .

Thanks, e66330. Do you ever have any trouble finding a place to park when you go to the beach?

During the summer/tourist season , it is almost impossible to find a spot down near the intersection of Sea Mountain Highway and Ocean Blvd . We don't spend much time south of Main Street towards the Windy Hill area so I can't comment on that .
