Surfside beach (new home, neighborhoods, gated)

Looking for suggestions on good neighborhoods in the Surfside beach area that are close to the beach or a short drive awsy.

Surfside Beach Club is great, gated homes from mid 200's to over 500K. Its all done so resale at this point. I also like Southwoods, its older but fairly well kept. They are adding new homes in the front of the subdivision off 17 by-pass. I personally would stay away from Deerfield. There are some great homes and areas, also some that are run down. They have a bunch of different HOA's in there.I understand that new homes are being built right off 17 Business at the beginning of Deerfield
