Are you talking about Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet proper? Or the subdivision areas?

Thank you all for your helpful responses!! We aren't sure if we will build new our not but we are doing our best to research all options. A responder mentioned Dr Horton as a reputable builder, would anyone have any personal experience with this company?
We are very excited about making the move and all of your feedback is invaluable preparing for this!!!

DR Horton is a large production builder with many developments in the area. I have viewed their homes in my development. I think Horton is OK but you could find something more interesting and a better value. For example, I like many of the individually built existing homes with mature landscaping.

Thanks for the feedback goldenage1. I am somewhat hesitant when it comes to developers so we will continue the search for a reputable builder or contractor to renovate once we find either the right lot or house. I did stumble upon an architect that we just love so if we go that route I am that far ahead in the process!!

How did you find your architect? Would you please share the name?

Sure, a property that we liked, we asked for the floor plans which revealed it was way too small for us. I have since been in contact with that architect going thru the options and costs to customize plans that they have. Allison Ramsey architecture. They seem amazing so far!! Hope we can work together on this project

I just googled Allison Ramsey and saw that they are in Beaufort. Do they also do work in the MB area? Too late to call them tonight and ask. I agree with you that they look amazing, but Beaufort is pretty far away from MB. I want to build an addition to my house with an indoor pool and am not sure where to start with that kind of a project. Thanks for any info you can share.

I am not sure how far they would consider going for a job. They sell their plans for new homes for base price of $1000.00. then any changes/modifications obviously increases the prices. They have been really great to talk with and come up with some great options just right for us if and when we decide to do this!! The next challenge for us would be finding the right land & the right builder. When I asked them for a builder recommendation they couldn't offer me one as you said since they are in Beaufort. You can chat with them online very easily as well.

Yes, can't imagine that they would come all the way up here for such a small job. Thanks again for your help.
