Took my camera for a stroll along the causeway at Huntington Beach SP today and you will never believe what was in the salt marsh. An octopus!! He got stranded in the low tide off the end of the observation deck. My pictures aren't worth sharing- out of range for me- but I hope someone will post some.

I bet that was awesome to see! I'd love to have seen that, never seen one except for in the aquarium. Shame your photos didn't turn out, would love to see.

If it were warmer, you probably would not have seen the octopus. It would have been dinner for a gator.

Too bad you were out of range with your camera. Would have enjoyed seeing a picture of such an unusual sighting!

I am sure that someone there has posted pictures someplace. I recognized a couple of faces from my previous trips to the park- there are certainly some regulars out there! I'll ask around next time I go and see if anyone posted their pictures.

So...I just looked through my stuff and found the card of a gentleman that I met on the causeway a few weeks back. Checked his website, and sure enough- he was there to see the octopus yesterday. the site is www.phillanoue.com. He takes some REALLY good photographs.

Yes, he does take great pics. I met him there on the causeway several years ago. He had a little booklet of pics to sell. All wonderful. I got one, but lost it and couldn't remember his name. Thanks for sharing!
