Are there any free public beach accesses there for parking? With all the rest of the beaches I've always found at least one free beach access parking area, but with these two I don't seem to see any, am I just missing them or are there really none in these locations?

I don't know about Litchfield, but Surfside Beach only has free beach access parking for a limited time on the off season. (I think Nov - end of Feb or March ... but I am no certain). You used to be able to park along Ocean Blvd, but they put meters up there recently. I think you can still find free spaces along Melody Lane (very south end of Surfside) in the grass along the road side (south side of the road). We would often park there when the parking lot at that access point was full. I believe they stopped the meters Oct 31, so you can find it now, but it is a little chilly today.

Thanks! I've been wanting to see both beaches but can never seem to find free parking. I'm not going today, I was going to go the other day and went down there but didn't find parking, so I went on down to Pawleys. I've been meaning to ask but always end up forgetting to. I'm gonna try surfside the next pretty day and see what it's like.

Litchfield Beach has a number of beach accesses, but I'm not sure which, if any, have parking spaces. There is very limited free public parking in front of Litchfield Inn, along Norris Drive. The parking lot in front of the Inn is private parking for the Inn, and subject to towing. If you can grab one of the free parking places, there's a public walkway to the beach along the South side of the Inn.

North Litchfield Beach has quite a few beach access areas, and many of them have free parking spaces. Coming down from MB, turn left onto Boyle Road at the first traffic light South of Brookgreen. This road will end at Parker Drive. If you turn left on Parker Drive, there are at least a couple public beach accesses with parking within the first 1/2 mile. This time of year, there will be plenty of parking during the week, and maybe on the weekend. During the summer, get there very early or don't waste your time.
