You might like the Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach. My mother always loved it, so I think it is a place for all ages.

There is also a small zoo if you like animals. The Waccatee Zoo is not that far at all from the beach. My favorite area there is the egrets nesting in all the trees around the water area. It is in the back an over a bridge. You can bring a picnic lunch with you.

Ride out to Pawleys and enjoy the Island Shops right on 17. Have lunch at Island Café or Salt Creek. Watch the famous Pawleys hammocks come to life.

A must is to visit Market Commons and browse around. The movie theaters there are awesome. The stores are delightful. Just strolling on the beautiful walkways is a joy.

Take in a show at one of the many stages around.

Don't forget the beach. It still will be swimming weather. Catch that beautiful ocean before the winter winds come along.

We have been pretty amazed at the prices that can be had at Pawleys Plantation vacay rentals....we've been trekking down often for over a year and have stayed in the one bedroom villas for less than $100/night- that's a whole condo unit for less than the Hampton's best rate. They aren't ocean front, of course, but some have marsh views and many have golf course views. Its really quiet and pleasant back there, too.
Also, check the Coastal Observer for some recent stories about activities. We just learned of a bird watching tour that sounds fun and there have been things about the turtles and the naturalist-led beach walks.
