Saw my first two alligators of the spring on my walk through Prince Creek (Murrells Inlet SC) this morning. First gators I have seen in a while (although I think I spotted one on the far shore of one of the large ponds last week but was too far away to confirm). I always smile when I see one. It's like they are saying "F-you. You can have your communities, homes, lawns and retention ponds. We are going to live here anyway!"

Tmozer.... where is Prince Creek, where you were walking? I think I know but can you give me a visual landmark? We walk the Marsh Walk ALL the time. We also have a home near some of the marshland near Garden City beach. I love observing the birds and such in those areas, SO beautiful.

Thanks

It is a large golf (TPC) community in Murrells Inlet off 707. I see the gators in the retention ponds in the area called the Bays.

They were not too big (maybe 4-6 feet). The large ones get taken away by the Gator Squad........

They are all over the place here. My neighbor had one in her yard and there's a bunch in the reservoir on 501. I used to walk around it for exercise until I saw gator tracks all over. Don't understand why people let their dogs swim in there, they can easily get killed.

Thanks...I've never been there. We saw gators at Huntington State Park during the summer a couple years ago. Fun.

My husband heard there were dolphins in the marsh this past week. Amazing the beautiful wildlife in that area. That is what I love about SC.

I love seeing wildlife, especially alligators, snakes and large lizards. So I am disappointed in the amount and variety I have observed both here in SC and in SW Florida. I expected to see a lot more but still rarely see anything interesting during my daily 2 hour walk. Perhaps they hear (or smell) me coming.......

I have seen alligators in all the ponds in the Bays over the years. I'll look today as to which ponds had gators yesterday.....
