Surfside Beach crime (buying, place to live, friendly)

was looking in buying a place in Surfside close to the pier

how's the crime in the area? good/bad?
and/or how far out does it get bad?

most areas have bad areas and just wanting to know how far out does it get bad

Another member of the forum posted this link on another thread. It shows what crimes are happening and where. I live in Surfside. Although I feel there is more going on than there was 2 years ago when I first moved here, I still feel like it is a safe, fun, friendly place to live. The crooks you have to worry about in Surfside are the ones that have been voted into office.
