Been thinking of everyone at the SC shore areas. I hope you don't get socked too badly. I am a tad west of Philly, PA and if I'm thinking right, with the storm heading North from the Outer Banks, I'm more in the path than you SC people are. All I've noticed here so far is lots of bottled water being purchased. Good luck to us all.

How are we doing down there? Is there any flooding in the Garden City/Surfside area? Everyone have power?

Tinabean,
I haven't been down to Garden City, but here in Surfside all is well. We didn't lose power here where we are. My parents lost their power briefly (for about an hour) a little after midnight. Last night my husband went down to the beach to shoot some video and the water wasn't up to the dunes yet, but the retention ponds near Ocean Blvd were overflowing and flooding the road. This morning we went down to the beach and all was quiet. In the neighborhood there was a few down branches, and some minor debris (mostly dead palm leaves). We saw one dangling wire, but we didn't see any major damage. I am uploading the beach video, from last night, to youtube now and will post it when it is up and running.

Default Things look pretty normal in Surfside Beach

We just got back from riding around the neighborhood and checking out the beach. weather.com was saying that we have 14 ft. waves and 40 mph winds. So not true. The ocean looked fairly calm and the waves were about 3 ft. at most. Other than some branches down in yards, etc. as Neece said, things look pretty much normal here.

Apparently, there was some flooding on Ocean Blvd. in Garden City Beach. I am attaching a picture that a friend of mine posted on facebook from last night.

Thanks, Neece, for video proof of my claim about small waves. Where is weather.com getting their info??? Bizarro!
