i know its crazy but last couple times a group of us went a some people had major itchy butt. they didnt shave before they went into the water but when they came out they said their whole butt/private area itched like crazy. so they went back into water hoping it would help and when they came out the itches started up real bad again. what could have caused that? some weird parasite in myrtle water? yeah i know its funny but we prefer not to have a repeat..

I am a big fan of epsom salts and think this could help a lot with this. It is the best remedy for burns that I have used.

While the sea lice complaint comes up from time to time, it's actually a pretty rare problem around here. If you want to avoid it entirely, Maine's beaches are probably a good option. It's a warm-water thing, and gets much more prevalent as you head toward Florida and the Caribbean.

As a lifelong resident of Myrtle Beach (I'm 46), I've never gotten sea lice. It is a pretty rare thing.

Could be something like bed bugs from where you are staying, and the salt water makes them really irritable. In my 44 years of Myrtle Beach water it has never happened. Too coincidental that it has happened to your group every time and not other beach goers. Check with strangers next to you! Oh yeah, Prickly Heat and salt don't mix either.
