Robert De Niro - HEAT
Denzel Washington -Training Day AND American Gangster; Both characters soooo faaaar removed from the traditional "good guy" roles he normally plays, he really proved he is not a one dimensional actor with those two convincing performances.

I often have love for the villain in most movies, EXCEPT Gladiator. Joaquin Phoenix was such a weasel in that movie, plus Russell Crowe as Maximus was such a bad a s s.

That movie had no heros. All characters were different degrees of villian.
